ROCK PAPER PENCIL was founded by Sarah Barton to provide personalised and flexible therapy in schools and the community. After 10 years experience as a teacher, Sarah was inspired to continue training and work therapeutically with vulnerable children in education.
Sarah is a fully qualified State Registered Art Psychotherapist and has a wide experience as an Art Psychotherapist in Community care and Education. She is registered with the Health Care & Professions Council (HCPC) and holds an MA in Art Psychotherapy. She has also worked for 10 years as a teacher in Further, Secondary and Primary Education and is a qualified teacher (PGCE, QTS). Her particular area of expertise is working with people from ethnic minorities, with children and families, for which she has extensive training and knowledge. She also has experience and training of working with interpreters.
Sarah travels all across the Humber region, visiting schools with children that have emotional difficulties or disabilities, helping them to express how they feel using the arts as a means of communication and self-expression.
